Today's View From the Unemployment Line
Another picture from the archives, taken in an alley in Lincoln Park in early November. Another from the archives?! Fear not, as of tonight I am fully back in the unemployment line. So the camera will be back in my hands and fresh photos will be forthcoming.
This time of year the city looks particularly festive on the main strips, as the city's retailers jockey for consumer dollars and future shareholder satisfation. Off the beaten path, things look rather bleak, as the bare trees hunker down for the winter, the clouds seem more persistent, and the people decline to venture out into the cold. As yet, the late fall has not given way to the temps that make the Chicago winters famous. But it is only a matter of time.
